Saree Care Guide
At Vastramss, every saree is a reflection of India's rich textile heritage and the craftsmanship of its artisans. With the right care, your treasured drapes can retain their beauty, texture, and charm for generations.
1. Cleaning & Washing
We recommend professional dry cleaning for our handloom sarees to preserve their colours, natural fibres, intricate weaving, and delicate embellishments. Avoid machine washing or harsh detergents.
2. Storage
Store your sarees in a clean, dry place, preferably wrapped in soft cotton or muslin fabric. Avoid storing them in plastic covers for extended periods, as natural fibres require proper ventilation.
3. Refolding Your Sarees
Refold your sarees every 4–6 months to prevent permanent creases and reduce the risk of fabric deterioration, particularly along the folds.
4. Protection from Sunlight & Moisture
Keep your sarees away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and damp spaces to prevent fading, discolouration, and damage to the fabric.
5. Perfumes & Cosmetics
Avoid spraying perfumes, deodorants, hairsprays, or other cosmetic products directly onto your saree, as they may leave stains or affect the fabric and zari over time.
6. Ironing & Handling
Use a low heat setting suitable for the fabric, preferably with a protective cotton cloth between the iron and the saree. For delicate silk, zari, and hand-painted or embellished sarees, seek professional care.
7. Caring for Natural Fibres & Handcrafted Details
Handloom sarees are crafted using traditional techniques, and slight variations in colour, texture, weave, or motifs are natural characteristics of handmade textiles. Handle them gently and avoid pulling loose threads or delicate embellishments.
A Little Care Goes a Long Way
Every Vastramss saree carries a story of heritage, artistry, and tradition. Thoughtful care helps preserve its beauty, allowing you to cherish and pass it on for years to come.
